According to WDRB, a 42 year-old Louisville man was recently killed in a workplace accident. News reports indicate that high wind caused a 700-pound fiberglass lid to collide with the man.
The man later died from his injuries at a local hospital. The man’s employer says the accident is still under investigation.

This means the employee cannot be terminated, demoted or receive a salary reduction for pointing out unsafe conditions.
If an employer does not take appropriate steps to correct the hazard, an employee may file a complaint with OSHA and request that OSHA inspect the workplace. OSHA has the right of refusal to disclose the identity of the employee who requested the inspection at the employee’s request.
